Each of our six individually decorated rooms, named after a famous surfing spot in the area, has its own unique style.
~The Jetty~
Well protected by northwest winds, a collector for south swells, The Jetty is mostly even-tempered throughout the year. You can always find a wave at the Jetty, which has a characteristic "reverb" wave that gets its height and shape from classical physics - constructive wave interference resulting from a combination of a man-made jetty that is roughly at a right angle to the beach, forcing two waves to come together and create an explosion both incredibly steep and often times hollow. It is an easy paddle out and well viewed from Highway 1. Late take-offs are normal due to the immense energy created by the confluence of two waves, resembling a surfable Sandy Beach or even the Wedge. Most of the locals are quite friendly and this is where everyone can enjoy the surf.
What makes The Jetty Guestroom so special…
Located in the quaint village of Princeton-by-the-Sea just minutes north of historic Half Moon Bay, you will find beachcombing, hiking, tidepooling, shopping, kayaking and oceanfront dining all within easy walking distance.
“Excellent stay! Only wish it could have been longer!!!” Accommodations and hospitality was excellent! We checked in late and our room key was waiting us in the designated spot. Cleanliness was exceptional, bathroom was bright and clean with amazing soaking tub and great shower, soft robes as well. Comfy bed, nice gas fireplace, wonderful view of the bay, a few snacks (a good variety!) and waters were left upon check-in and very much appreciated after a long day of travel! Dining area, mini-fridge, microwave and single serve coffee maker round out the large and relaxing room. Large deck area was a pleasure for this east coaster to watch the sun rise and the glow over the sailboats early in the morning. The inn is walking distance to town for a bite to eat, a few drinks or just a stroll through this great town. We explored the beach the next morning and were delighted by the binoculars left in the room we could use to watch the amazing waves at Mavericks breaking just around the point from the Inn. There is mention of a fog horn that can easily be heard throughout the Half Moon Bay area but after an hour I honestly didn't even hear it anymore. If you stay anywhere at Half Moon Bay you will hear it but don't let that deter you from this great small inn with first class service! We also enjoyed the easily accessable high speed internet with no added charges! Thanks for an exceptional stay, we'd love to return!
