I want to give a zero star review.. but wait.. don't get me wrong.. it's only because I don't want word to get out about this hidden gem. After all, Inn at Mavericks is now our very special place. I discovered this place here on Yelp and all I can say is that the previous reviews just didn't give this place justice!
We arrived here on a late Saturday afternoon, parked in the parking lot (notice the spikes placed strategically in the trees so the birds can't sit on the branches and poop on the cars!). The Inn is small, just six rooms. A sign on the office door instructed us to open the mail box and find the envelope with our name. The envelope gave us all the details we needed for our stay and led us to our room.
We were in Mavericks #1. Upon walking in, the first thing I noticed was CLEAN. The very faint aroma of bleach was in the air. I had a GOOD feeling about this place! The room was decorated perfectly and was generous in size.
The Inn Keeper thought of everything here. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was soft. A gas fireplace in the corner was the PERFECT touch! A small round glass table and chairs for sitting/eating, couch and over sized comfy chair were rounding out the room. Then there was the wet bar (OK, no sink, so not officially a wet bar, I guess). A Keurig coffee machine with a lovely assortment of K-Cups, flavored and plain creamers, sugar/sweetener packages, and a basket full of snacks (almonds, popcorn, candies, local salt water taffy, an apple, hot chocolate, cookies, granola bars, etc.). A fridge, microwave and DVD player were tucked away. We also found every type
of glass you could ever want (wine, scotch, water, martini, etc..), a cutting board, utensils, plates, and napkins. No touch was left out. It was absolutely perfect!
As far as the fog horn... yes, we heard it. It was part of the ambiance of being coast side. I enjoyed it. It's what you expect when staying at a cozy little Inn on the water.
We will be back to the Inn at Mavericks in a red hot minute. This place is a gem. It's quiet, clean, perfectly decorated, comfortable and the view cannot be beat. It's the perfect getaway. It's our very special place.
