Located about 5 miles south of Inn at Mavericks off of Highway 1 is the lovely little town of Half Moon Bay. Half Moon Bay has always been a popular weekend respite from the hectic pace of the city. Half Moon Bay is also famous for its Pumpkin Festival which is held every October. The festival boasts the world’s biggest pumpkin sculpture, a haunted house, pie eating contests, four music stages, harvest-inspired crafts, a costume contest, pumpkin themed cuisine, and more.
If you’re looking for family recreational activities, the California Coastal Trail is a popular local favorite. This trail is a wonderful bike and pedestrian pathway along the coast with stunning ocean views. There are also many opportunities for bird and wildlife watching along the trail.
